Abstract

This community service program was implemented at SMK Pemuda 1 Kesamben to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among 10th-grade technical students through batik training. The program was based on the need for young generations to acquire practical skills that could help them create business opportunities amid the challenges of a competitive job market and the growth of the creative economy. The method applied included participatory approaches, hands-on practice, and project-based learning. Students were trained in every stage of batik making, from motif design, canting techniques, coloring with the colet method, to the final nglorod process. In addition to technical skills, they were introduced to basic entrepreneurship concepts such as branding, pricing, and simple marketing strategies. The results demonstrated significant improvement in students’ batik-making skills, stronger creativity and confidence, as well as emerging entrepreneurial interest through marketable batik tablecloth products. The program outputs included students’ batik products, activity documentation, and a replicable training model. Overall, this program proved that local wisdom-based empowerment can be an effective strategy to equip young generations with both technical skills and sustainable entrepreneurial mindsets.
